Water plants, water pumps, motors, hydraulic valves, frequency converters … The more water supply equipment and supporting facilities there are, the longer they stay. In the sauna-like working environment, the mind of the staff remains highly awake and carefully checks every screw and dial.

According to the relevant person in charge of Liuyang Economic Development Zone Water Company, in order to ensure a smooth water supply peak, four water plants in Jinyang New City have been started simultaneously, and Jinyang No.1 Water Plant is close to full capacity.

"The temperature is high, the equipment runs for a long time, and the heat dissipation is not enough, which is easy to break down. In order to find and solve problems in advance and avoid failures, we have increased the number of inspections and increased the maintenance of equipment. " According to the person in charge, in order to ensure the normal and safe operation of the equipment, at present, the four water plants strictly implement the 24-hour duty inspection system, and the duty personnel conduct inspections every 2 hours. For inspection workers, high-temperature roasting and indoor "sauna" have become commonplace, and they walk nearly 20,000 steps a day.

In the continuous high temperature weather, the water level of Laodao River is reduced, the flow rate is reduced, and the flow velocity is slow. Floating objects, fallen leaves and dead branches in the river flow to the intake, which may cause the intake grille to be blocked and affect the quality of raw water.

On the afternoon of August 16th, Huang Youtong, Luo Qingjun, Deng Jie, Li Chengquan and others, the staff of No.1 Water Plant of Liuyang Economic Development Zone Water Company, came to the river to prepare to go down the river to clean up the sundries near the water intake. They change their work clothes and put on life jackets. A straw hat, a rake and a pair of hands are all their "equipment".

Bend over, salvage, get up … They kept repeating these actions in the hot sun, and the boat was gradually filled with debris. After more than 20 minutes, the water surface near the water intake finally became clean and unobstructed.

"Ensuring smooth water intake is the basis for normal water supply during peak hours." Huang Youtong said that during the dry season, they have to clean up every two days or so.

In order to ensure the continuous and stable water quality of water supply in hot weather, Liuyang Economic Development Zone Water Company has also increased the frequency of testing. Samplers sample and test source water, factory water, pipe network water and terminal water once every hour to keep abreast of water quality changes.

In addition, the water plants of the water company have also organized staff to clean the process tanks such as sedimentation tanks and filter tanks for many times to ensure the cleanliness of the process tanks and avoid the influence of sediment deposition on the water treatment process effect and water supply quality.

On the afternoon of August 15th, some people reported that a water supply supervisor in Yongtai Road had a water leakage problem.
