On May 7 th, MediaTek just announced the launch of a technically enhanced version of the Dimensity 1000 series-Dimensity 1000+ chip, based on the performance of flagship platform Dimensity 1000 series, also adopts 7nm process technology.On this basis, Dimensity 1000+ aims at5G power consumption, screen refresh rate, gaming experience, and display quality.All four aspects have been upgraded accordingly.
"As the flagship 5G SoC, MediaTek Dimensity 1000 Series not only has powerful performance, but also comprehensively optimizes the user experience of 5G smartphones through technology upgrades." Dr. Li Yanji, deputy general manager of MediaTek Wireless Communication Division, said that Dimensity 1000+ based on’s 5G, power saving, screen, games and video technologies in MediaTek has further brought better flagship 5G experience to high-end users.
It is reported that,Dimensity 1000+ chip will be launched in iQOO, a sub-brand of vivo, and will be released in a short time.

In the media interview after the meeting, Dr. Li Yanji, deputy general manager of MediaTek Wireless Communication Division, mentioned that although the novel coronavirus epidemic this year had an impact on the production capacity and sales of mobile phones in the first quarter, MediaTek’s judgment on the entire domestic 5G market would not change much. At present, the planning of 5G products in MediaTek is still in progress.
Dimensity 1000+ adopts MediaTek 5G UltraSave power-saving technology developed by MediaTek, which has the functions of C-DRX energy-saving management and BWP dynamic bandwidth regulation, and can dynamically adjust the working mode according to the network environment and data transmission, such as power supply configuration and working frequency.
Li Junnan, technical planning director of MediaTek Wireless Communication Division, mentioned that this technology can further reduce the 5G power consumption of terminal equipment, and at the same time, compared with competitors of the same level of friends, the average 5G power consumption of Dimensity 1000+ is reduced by 48%.
In addition, Dimensity 1000+ also supports 5G dual-carrier aggregation aggregation and 5G+5G dual card dual standby.
In terms of screen, Dimensity 1000+ supports a screen refresh rate of 144Hz, and the screen presented per second is 2.4 times that of the ordinary 60Hz screen. Li Junnan said that the screen refresh rate of 144Hz can greatly reduce the smear and jamming problems in applications such as high-frame videos and games.
In terms of game optimization, Dimensity 1000+ is equipped with MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 game optimization engine, which optimizes the intelligent load control engine, network optimization engine and control optimization engine on the basis of the previous generation technology, further enhancing the experience of game transition, network and peripheral control.
1. Intelligent load control engine: game fast transition.
This technology can accelerate the rapid transition of the game, intelligently adjust CPU, GPU and memory resources, and realize low-power operation while taking into account the full frame of the picture.
Compared with the flagship of Youshang, Dimensity 1000+ can reduce the power consumption of playing games under 5G by up to 32%.
2, network optimization engine: game/video call uninterrupted network.
This technology allows users to keep the connection between games and video calls stable and smooth when they encounter incoming calls while playing games or video calls.
In addition, the network optimization engine also supports intelligent 5G/4G switching, which can intelligently detect users’ network throughput and bandwidth requirements, select the best network transmission, and reduce the average power consumption by up to 60%.
3, control optimization engine: Bluetooth /Wi-Fi low delay anti-interference.
HyperEngine 2.0′ s control optimization engine technology optimizes the Bluetooth transmission of devices, which can reduce the delay of game sound, picture and control synchronization.
At the same time, the engine also has Wi-Fi/BT anti-jamming technology, which realizes the parallel transmission of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, further reducing the delay of Wi-Fi network, and the longest delay is reduced by 25%.
4. MiraVision image quality engine: real-time frame-by-frame tuning of 4K video.
The chip-level MiraVision image quality engine is based on the independent AI processor APU3.0, which mainly includes three technologies: AI scene image quality optimization, HDR10+ support and video HDR enhancement.
In AI scene quality optimization (AI-PQ), the engine can dynamically adjust the contrast, sharpness and color of each frame according to AI scene recognition. At the same time, it also supports HDR10 and HDR10+ image quality standards, which can adjust the image details and dynamic range of 4K video images frame by frame.
In terms of video HDR enhancement, MiraVision image quality engine can realize real-time partition operation of 4K images, and enhance the ordinary SDR video source to HDR display effect in real time while further improving the high dynamic range of video.
In the application of AR, Dimensity 1000+ uses ISP (image signal processing) image technology, based on the AI computing ability of APU 3.0, and supports five hand recognition models: Detection, Tracking, Skeleton, Gesture and Verification.
At the same time, it also supports real-time operation of AI 3D gesture tracking, including detecting human gestures, multi-joints and degrees of freedom, position and rotation of hands in space, and performing real-time rendering and seamless splicing of pictures.
In the media interview after the meeting, Li Yanji mentioned that AI technology is still in the high-speed development stage, and there are more and more AI applications on mobile phones, including camera algorithms, while MediaTek has been actively developing advanced image processing technology, making full preparations for market competition.
In addition, with the gradual maturity and landing of 5G technology, video has become an important explosion point. This time, Dimensity 1000+ has also made a series of optimizations and upgrades for 4K video.
So what important plans has MediaTek made in the 8K field?
In Li Junnan’s view, at this stage, 8K technology is still in the stage of technology demonstration, and the resolution of most mobile phones and TVs has not reached the 8K standard. Therefore, MediaTek will still focus on the improvement of 4K technology, but 8K technology is also under development.
Through this release, we can see that compared with Dimensity 1000 chip, Dimensity 1000+ not only has lower 5G power consumption and 144Hz screen refresh rate, but also has upgraded the game and video call experience to varying degrees.
With the release of Dimensity 1000+, MediaTek Dimensity 1000 series has three flagship chip products: Dimensity 1000L, Dimensity 1000 and Dimensity 1000+.
In fact, as an upgraded version of Dimensity 1000 chip, Dimensity 1000+ is not a performance improvement and supplement for MediaTek’s previous Dimensity 1000 series.
But from another perspective, Dimensity 1000+ meets the demand of low power consumption and low latency for 5G technology, which further provides an effective solution for the increasingly mature and huge 5G application scenarios.
