For this year’s high-profile candidates, how can they fill in their volunteers to enter this coveted ivory tower? On June 20th, Henan Government Network and Dahe.com invited Nan Han, deputy director of the Admissions Office of Henan University, to be a guest in the live broadcast room, explaining the school’s enrollment policy this year for candidates, and filling in the volunteer support for candidates.

This year, this master’s degree has enrolled a total of 12,550 students, all of whom are enrolled according to a batch of undergraduate courses and an advance batch.
"This year, Henan University will continue to actively deepen the reform of the enrollment system, optimize the structure of students, and improve the quality of students. All majors will be enrolled in accordance with a batch of undergraduate courses and in advance." Nan Han, deputy director of the Admissions Office of Henan University, said that in 2019, the total enrollment scale of undergraduate students in Henan University was 12,550, and 96 majors were enrolled in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government according to a batch of undergraduate students and advance batches.
At present, the school enrolls 16 majors in advance and a batch of undergraduates, including economics, finance, China language and literature, history, education, psychology, journalism and communication, geography, public administration, mathematics, electronic information, computer, pharmacy, chemistry, architecture and design, covering 38 specific majors (directions).
At the same time, this year the school continued to implement special enrollment plans for poor rural areas. In 2019, Henan University continued to implement the "national special plan" and "local special plan" for qualified candidates in rural poverty-stricken areas in Henan Province, with a total enrollment plan of about 300 people and nearly 30 arts and science majors, all of which are superior majors.
In addition, Chinese-foreign cooperative education majors plan to recruit more than 2,200 students and add an enrollment program. In 2019, we added a cooperation project with the undergraduate course of Huddersfield University in the UK. The cooperative enrollment major is civil engineering, and the enrollment plan is 100 students (limited to science).

Expand the scope of enrollment according to major categories, and the admission principles of art and music majors have changed.
"This year, our school expanded the scope of enrollment according to major categories, and added architectural enrollment, including architecture and urban and rural planning." Nan Han said.
Candidates need to be reminded that this year, Heda University has added an undergraduate major, namely Nano-materials and Technology. This major started enrolling students for the first time this year, with 30 students planned.
In addition, the admission principles of art music majors have changed. All art majors (including cooperative education) are admitted in advance in art undergraduate courses. The admission principle of music majors has been adjusted: music majors with the same type of unified examination results are admitted according to the principle of group investment in Henan Province. The major of composition and composition technology theory was changed to only recruit instrumental candidates.

Among the existing undergraduate majors, Heda University has 9 national specialties, including Chinese language and literature, English, history, biological science, chemistry, geography, education, economics and physical education. There are 13 provincial specialties, including: applied chemistry, clinical medicine, computer science and technology, tourism management, information and computing science, traditional ethnic sports, physics, editing and publishing, painting, music performance, musicology and ideological and political education.
Many candidates are concerned about whether they can change their major if they are not satisfied with their major after entering the university.
In this regard, Nan Han said that in order to provide students with more opportunities for free choice and good space for personality development, Henan University has formulated the Interim Measures for Ordinary Undergraduate Students of Henan University to Change their Major. Students who really have interest and expertise in other majors during their study can apply for changing majors within the time specified by the school. According to the requirements of training objectives and training quality, all relevant majors will assess the students to be transferred and decide whether to accept them according to the assessment results. For individual majors, if the state has relevant regulations or there is a clear agreement with the school before admission, it is not allowed to change majors (for details, refer to the Interim Measures for the Change of Major for Ordinary Undergraduate Students in Henan University).

Constructing innovative practice training system to improve the quality of undergraduate talent training
What students and parents care about is what kind of training students will get after entering the school. For Heda University, the cultivation of undergraduate talents has always been the top priority.
"From the end of 2018 to April 2019, our school held an undergraduate education conference, held a four-month discussion on undergraduate education ideas, and put forward 20 reform measures aimed at deepening undergraduate education reform and comprehensively improving the quality of personnel training." Nan Han introduced that the school has started to implement four special plans, namely, undergraduate specialty construction and upgrading, undergraduate course quality improvement, undergraduate practical teaching quality improvement and undergraduate classroom teaching quality improvement.
Schools give full play to the advantages of comprehensive universities and implement general education. For all undergraduates, five general education modules are set up, including cultural inheritance and humanistic training, human civilization and social development, scientific spirit and scientific progress, life education and health, artistic sentiment and aesthetic perception, so as to encourage students to "understand arts and sciences, know ancient and modern times and understand art" and thus have a generous knowledge base.
At present, the school has 34 national excellent courses, 94 provincial excellent courses and 145 school-level excellent courses. At the same time, we actively explore the innovation of training mode, including the enrollment training mode by specialty, the training mode of major and minor plus double degree, and the implementation of top-notch innovative talent training plan. The school offers experimental classes of "Elite Program" for biological sciences and "Mingde Program" for nine majors, including Chinese language and literature, and is committed to cultivating top talents in basic disciplines. For students with poor family economic conditions, what financial aid policies does the school have to help them complete their studies?
According to reports, Henan University currently has scholarships at the national level, the school level and the social level, and has formed a multi-functional funding system of "awards, loans, assistance, diligence, exemption and compensation".
In terms of scholarships, the school has national scholarships (8,000 yuan/person/year), national inspirational scholarships (5,000 yuan/person/year), Henan University scholarships (2,000 yuan/person/year), Henan University special scholarships and other scholarships at or above the school level. Relevant colleges also have college scholarships, as well as directional, special or professional scholarships set up by social institutions and individuals. In 2018, the school distributed 43.6 million yuan of national scholarships to nearly 13,400 students.
In terms of student loans, students from poor families can apply for national student loans on campus, thus alleviating the pressure on tuition and living expenses. In 2018, the school issued a total of 56 million yuan of national student loans to 8,000 students.

Candidates in Henan Province rank more than 8,500 in liberal arts and more than 40,000 in science, which is expected to be admitted.
The principle of general admission to Henan University this year is: based on the results of the college entrance examination, taking the scores of the ordinary high school academic level examination and the comprehensive quality evaluation as an important reference, the principle of "score first" is implemented, that is, among the candidates who fill in the school’s volunteers and file in the school, the candidates with high scores are given priority to meet their professional volunteers. When the file scores are the same, the majors are arranged in order according to the scores of Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages. Parallel volunteer Toudang admission, the unfinished plan, in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Education and the provincial admissions departments to solicit volunteers. The school does not set a professional grade difference when enrolling.

In 2018, a batch of undergraduate admissions in Henan Province were as follows: the minimum admission scores of arts and sciences were 582 points and 561 points, which were 35 points and 62 points higher than the provincial first line respectively.
In addition to referring to the admission scores of previous years, the ranking of candidates is also a very important reference index. Judging from the admission situation in previous years, candidates in Henan Province generally rank above 8,500 in liberal arts and above 40,000 in science, and are expected to be admitted to Heda University.
"Under the current investment mode in parallel volunteer, candidates should be clear about the position of their scores among all candidates, and then make a comprehensive analysis based on the admission situation of enrollment institutions over the years to determine the volunteers that suit them."
