　　In 1938, Zhao Zhankui went to Yan ‘an to participate in the anti-Japanese war. When he worked as an iron worker in a farm tool factory, he never slacked off in front of a high-heat furnace as high as 2,000 degrees Celsius. Once when smelting copper, the lead pot suddenly burst, and thousands of degrees of copper water splashed on Zhao Zhankui’s right foot. During his convalescence, he returned to work before his foot injury healed, and donated solatium to the frontline soldiers. 　　Meng Tai, former deputy director of Angang Ironmaking Plant, was interviewed by Chairman Mao for eight times and was the first generation model worker in New China. At the end of 1948, after the victory of Liaoshen Campaign, Meng Tai faced the dilemma of lack of equipment and funds for Angang’s resumption of construction, braved the snowstorm and ran around Shili factory to find equipment. Together with a dozen workers, in a few months, he collected thousands of materials and tens of thousands of parts and built a nationally famous "Meng Tai Warehouse". He made great efforts to tackle key technical problems, successively solved more than a dozen technical problems, and successfully made large rolls, which filled the gap in China’s metallurgical history. 　　As a representative of industrial workers in the new era, Kong Xiangrui is the captain of Tianjin Port China Coal Huaneng Coal Terminal Co., Ltd. Since joining the work, he has persisted in learning by doing, applied what he has learned, and trained the unique skill of "listening to sounds and diagnosing diseases", becoming a "king of door machines" and "expert in troubleshooting", and growing from a worker with junior high school education to a "blue-collar expert" in the production line. In 1995, a 40-ton gantry crane, the core equipment of loading and unloading production in Tianjin Port, broke down, which will seriously affect production if it is not repaired immediately. The premise of repair is to lift the upper plate of the 168-ton gantry crane. According to the convention, it is necessary to rent a sea crane and wait for two months. Determined to solve the problem by himself, he led his workmates through repeated research to overcome the difficulty that the lower fulcrum was not easy to fix because of the rotation of the bearing. "The Most Beautiful Struggler" Huang Danian (1958-2017)

　　Huang Danian is a well-known geophysicist. He was a professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Earth Exploration Science and Technology of Jilin University before his death. He has made a series of major scientific and technological achievements and made outstanding contributions to the exploration of deep resources and the construction of national defense security. In 2009, Huang Danian resolutely gave up the superior foreign scientific research conditions and life, and became the first returnee of the "Thousand Talents Program" in Northeast China. The "Theme Project of Aviation Exploration Equipment" and "Research and Experiment Project of Key Instruments and Equipment for Deep Earth Exploration" he undertook broke through the foreign embargo and technical blockade bottleneck in a short time, filling the domestic technical gap. At the same time, he took "training talents for the motherland" as his responsibility, and brought out a team of talents who could get out and get back. On January 8, 2017, Huang Danian died of illness at the age of 58. In July 2017, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions posthumously awarded Huang Danian the National May 1st Labor Medal.

　　Wang Jicai was the director of Kaishan Island militia post in Guanyun County, Jiangsu Province. Kaishan Island is located in the outpost of the Yellow Sea in China, with an area of only two football fields, and its strategic position is very important. After the troops were disbanded in 1985, a militia post was set up. However, due to the difficult conditions, more than 10 militiamen who went to the island were unwilling to stay on duty for a long time. In 1986, 26-year-old Wang Jicai accepted the task of guarding the island. From then on, he and his wife took the island as their home, accompanied by loneliness, silently stuck to it on an island where there was no water, no electricity and plants could hardly survive, and devoted all their youth to the coastal defense cause of the motherland. In 2014, Wang Jicai and his wife were rated as "model of the times" in China. On July 27, 2018, Wang Jicai suddenly became ill while on duty, and died after being rescued, at the age of 58. On September 17, 2019, the supreme leader of president signed a presidential decree and awarded Wang Jicai the honorary title of "People’s Model".

"Model of the Times" Huang Wenxiu (1989-2019)

　　Huang Wenxiu was a cadre of the Propaganda Department of Baise Municipal Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. After graduating from Beijing Normal University in 2016, she returned to work in her hometown of Baise. In March 2018, Huang Wenxiu actively responded to the organization’s call to serve as the first resident secretary in Baini Village, leye county, and worked hard to lead 418 poor people in 88 households out of poverty, and the incidence of poverty in the village decreased by more than 20%. On June 16, 2019, Huang Wenxiu took advantage of the weekend to visit his father who was seriously ill after surgery. Because of the heavy rain, he drove back to work overnight and was killed in a flash flood. He was only 30 years old. Huang Wenxiu is an outstanding youth representative who grew up under the guidance of Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s ideological education in the new era of the Supreme Leader, and is the epitome of grassroots party member cadres who shed their blood and sweat and devoted themselves to tackling poverty. On July 17th, 2019, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions posthumously awarded Huang Wen Xiu the National May 1st Labor Medal.
